At the present time special technology, known as Laser cut, allows to cut - i.e. apply to the plate of matte rose gold - the finest details of the image of your patron Saint.
The uniqueness of icon's design being shown here is its three-dimensional appearance (visually perceived volume) coupled with very light weight. This effect was achieved by Russian goldsmith through assembly of rose gold details in multiple layers. This is truly a small masterpiece of religious jewelry craftsmanship.
