This classic Eastern Orthodox cross with a symbolic star of Bethlehem announcing the birth of Christ is true to the best traditions. The plate on the top carries the inscription IHЦI (INRI) 'Іисус Назарянинъ, Царь Іудейскій' (Latin: Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum, English: Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews) posted by Pontius Pilate. The slanted lower bar represents the footrest of Christ. Skull at the base of the Cross represents the ashes of Adam, whose sins were washed away with blood of Christ on Golgotha.
