This Orthodox cross crucifix, an Eastern cross with the corpus (Body of Christ), featuring inscriptions in Church Slavonic language about Christ and Christianity: IC XC (Іисусъ Христосъ-Jesus Christ), the acronym IHЦI (INRI) that reflects the historical background of the crucifixion of Christ and represents plate with inscription "Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum" (Russian: "Іисус Назарянинъ, Царь Іудейскій", English: "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews") ordered by the procurator of Judea Pontius Pilate. Skull at the base of the cross represents the ashes of Adam, whose sins were washed away with blood of Christ on Golgotha.
