Women's diamond christening cross in 585 (14-karat) rose and white gold from our new 'Virgin Mary's Tear' series. The cross is edged with a fine laser-cut pattern inspired by traditional Russian lace and a miniature crucified Jesus with the inscriptions in Church Slavonic language praising the Lord: 'IC XC' for 'Іисусъ Христосъ' ('Jesus Christ'), 'ГГ' stands for 'Golgotha', and 'NИКА' (derivative of the Greek verb 'nikē - conquest'). This word at the base of the cross is reminiscent of the Appearance of the Cross with the inscription 'In this sign thou shalt conquer' before the Emperor Constantine to signify the triumph of Christ over death and hell. A tiny diamond, mounted atop this cross, symbolizes the tears of the Virgin shed when her son Jesus was crucified. The tips of the crossbars of this cross are made as a trefoil to symbolize the Holy Trinity: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Reverse of the cross bears inscription 'Спаси и Сохрани' (Russian for 'Protect and Save' [me, oh my God]) to ward off the evil eye and to dissolve negative energy.
