Medieval-style Russian Openwork Cross Certified 585 (14kt) Rose Gold

This Russian Orthodox cross pendant with its openwork lines and the smallest details is a feast for the eyes. The cross is decorated with a meaningful symbols and inscriptions in Church Slavonic language praising the Christ and Christianity: ЦС (Царь Славы-The King of Glory), the acronym IHЦI (INRI) represents the inscription "Іисус Назарянинъ, Царь Іудейскій" (Latin: "Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum", English: "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews") placed atop the cross as ordered by Pontius Pilate, IC XC (Іисусъ Христосъ - Jesus Christ), skull at the base of the Cross represents the ashes of Adam, whose sins were washed away with blood of Christ on Golgotha. The reverse of the cross bears inscription 'Спаси и Сохрани' (Russian for 'Protect and Save me, oh my God') typical for Russian Orthodox crosses.
