This 3D gold body icon embraces a miniature composition called 'The Panagia Eleousa' and has an inscription in Russian on the reverse: Икона Божьей Матери 'Умиление'. Пресвятая Богородица cпаси нас (Icon of the Virgin of Tenderness. The Most-holy Theotokos save us). Due to a unique design this pendant is perceived as three-dimensional though it has a very light-weight. This effect was achieved by a Russian goldsmith by assembling gold details in multiple layers.
