This yellow and white 585 (14-karat) gold Orthodox cross is edged with a fine diamond-cut pattern inspired by traditional Russian lace and a miniature crucified Jesus with the inscriptions praising the Lord: INЦI (INRI) atop the cross (a Russian acronym for 'Іисусъ Назарянинъ, Царь Іудейскій' / Latin: 'Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum', or 'Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews'). It gives the historical background for the crucifixion ordered by the Roman prefect of Judaea Pontius Pilate. The acronym IC XC is Russian for 'Іисусъ Христосъ' or 'Jesus Christ'). The word NИКА is derived from the Greek verb nikē that stands for a conquest. This word at the base of the cross is reminiscent of the Appearance of the Cross with the inscription 'In this sign thou shalt conquer' before the Emperor Constantine to signify the triumph of Christ's over death and hell. Inscription on the reverse reads 'Спаси и Cохрани' (Russian for 'Protect and Save' [me, oh my God]) and protects from demonic attacks. Due to its size and design this body cross will make a perfect statement of faith for women, teenagers and children.
